I work for an IT consulting services group called Burwood Group. I have been working for Burwood for one year working on a range of projects focusing around the Digital Workspace with a highlight in cloud automation.
Before working at Burwood I was the senior systems administrator at a healthcare organization where a lead a team of highly skilled engineers tasks with keeping core clinical and business applications online for patients and customers.
I like getting nerdy with engineers and architects and discussing complex problems and solutions. I also enjoy interpreting these discussions by communicating with decision makers and end users in non-technical terms. My 10+ years of hands-on experience in application virtualization, server virtualization, storage management, data center monitoring, and automation gives me the tools I need to guide organizations on how best to protect their applications and data.
I believe engineers will need to think more like developers and use the same tools as developers because everything is software. IT operation engineers may not need to know how to code, but they will need to know how to read code. I’ve decided to invest more of my time in understanding some of these tools that developers use. The next wave of innovation is coming, and I want to be able to ride the wave.
